TGIF

I promise it's purple in real life. I couldn't get any pictures that really show the true color of my hair. Either way, I love it! Such a change!

This is the truest to color picture I could get:

And a final comparison picture (right before I got it done, when I got home afterwards, and today):

My crazy-pants OOTD for work. Express cardigan, Target top/belt/shoes, and Loft pants. It was only "eh." The pants will be better for fall when I can put a blazer with it and maybe some boots. Let's just hope the printed pant thing will still be on trend.

Ken taking a wellness exam at Sam's Club. It was actually pretty cool! You get all sorts of things checked like your vision, weight/BMI (the chair actually weighs you), sleep health, blood pressure, nutrition health, and mental health. Basically a doctor, that machine.

Waiting for results:

And because it's flex Friday, I took a picture of myself and edited the heck out of it to make sure everyone and their mother can see my muscles:

You're welcome.

Before & After

Also, when did the serving size for fish sticks become only 6 sticks?

Guess I'll be having 3 servings plus one stick.

Let's just pretend it's water, mmm-kay?

Even got myself happy hour pricing 5 minutes before 2:00. It's a good day!

OOTD and a Workout

I wore this for work yesterday. It was so comfortable to get around in, but the materials made it dressy enough to be professional. I brought my ankle strap heels to wear with it but the line of the ankle strap didn't mesh well with the bottom hem of the pant. However, I liked the flats with it better anyway and it made for an easier time running from pharmacy to pharmacy. I don't usually have problems that need troubleshooting for work, but the last two days have been crazy trying to resolve stocking issues at pharmacies. Because multiple pharmacies couldn't get my product in stock (wholesaler issues), I lost some business and trust of an account that recently started writing scripts for my product. But I think we got it figured out and all is well!

....anyway, the outfit:

It's another high-low top (short in the front, long in the back). It seems that the high-low cut is the only style that stores are carrying. And by stores, I mean Target. I don't like to invest money on dress shirts. I'd rather have something trendy and of-the-moment for a top and spend more money on the foundation pieces (skirts, pants, jackets, etc.).

After coming home from my crazy two days out of town, the last thing I wanted to do was workout. I did it anyway and took a picture as proof of my sweatiness. Except you can't really see the sweat pouring off my face and neck, so maybe I wasn't sweating as much as I felt like I was.

Either way, I got in a really good workout. I have recommitted myself to lifting weights five days a week after taking a few lazy weeks off. I noticed a huge drop in my attitude and an increase in stress levels when I stopped working out. Thus, I am back on it and my outlook is much more positive. Knowing how much being active affects my mental and emotional health is my main motivating factor for just getting it done. Instead of telling myself how much better my body will look, I have to tell myself "Do you want to be crazy psycho with mood swings? No? Okay, go workout." It seems to do the trick every time. And everyone around me is happier for it!

This was my workout yesterday, modified to do at home with resistance bands and a dip station:

I did a few sprints outside after I was done lifting and called it a day!

Garden Time!

If ever there were a time to get back into juicing, now would be it. The garden is officially starting to produce enough veggies to warrant use of our "harvest" basket. Oddly enough, I only used one homegrown veggie for my juice (cucumber). The rest (apple, spinach, lemon, and baby carrots) came from the store. Oops! Oh well. This has been my favorite juice concoction so far. Very simple but most likely to please the pickiest of palettes!

Baby R - Until Next time kid...

These pictures are for you, little man! First stop with Aunt "Stubby"? Target. My favorite place. Except your mom and I shopped for you instead of us. You children sure know how to shake up priorities. Your head was too big for this one (don't worry, it runs in the family):

Your mom got you this one instead. I know. Still cute, but not as cool as the first one:

Then you passed out on the way to Aunt J's. When you almost fell off the couch and started sleeping standing up against the couch, I grabbed you and started playing with your arms to wake you up. Except nothing would wake you:

Here you are at Grandma and Grandad's, hamming it up:

And of course, I saved the best for last. You wanted to wear my sunnies so we switched and made silly faces for the camera:

Glad ya got to see me! ;)

OOTD - Work

Just in case (Mom/Dad), OOTD stands for outfit of the day. I wore this for work today in the 100+ degree weather. I wasn't sure about the high-low top, as that cut typically has a more casual feel, but I think it dressed up nicely!

I mean...

It was going to get stale.

Mansion from Molehill #5

My vase needed some interest and I love incorporating texture when I can, so I decided to wrap this guy up in some 4-ply twine (I think? I'm too lazy to get out of bed and run to the kitchen to make sure I don't embarrass myself by not giving the correct type of string...but am I too lazy to go to the kitchen and get a donut? I bet the donut wins out.).

I just wrapped tightly and placed a small line of hot glue along the back of the vase for each row to hold it in place. Careful though! Just when you think you're done, you're not! The entire bottom string will fall off when you pick the vase up because you didn't fix the bottom row to the structure. Just FYI. Glue around the entire bottom string so they all stay in place.

My little table is finally finished to my liking! For now.

Go make something with twine! It's so easy and quick! I even decided to transform this little guy:

Forgot to take an after picture of the candle holder but the light colored twine breaks up the darkness on the table. Love!

Also...Should I eat the dang donut or not? It has sprinkles on it. And by "it" I mean both donuts.

Friends?

Snack Attack!

1/8 cup air popped popcorn (put kernels in paper bag, then fold over top twice, press popcorn button on the microwave), plus 1/4 cup of these fancy little dark chocolate pomegranate pieces. Very tasty, fairly healthy (right?), and held me over for quite a while!
